If Robb were going to hang up this series, and I know she isn't, this would be a good place to end. Without being too spoiler-ish, there is a closing of the circle here that could resolve major aspects of the overall story arc.

I agree with other reviewers who say this book has more tension than some of the other recent volumes. I have to say, though, that I'm increasingly uncomfortable with the sexual sadism of so many of Robb's villains. I get it; we care more, and cheer harder, if the bad guy being brought down is really, really evil. The love between Roarke and Eve is brighter and more clean against the dirt. Still, I felt this borders on torture porn.

Important for lovers of the series, because of the significant plot developments. (And yes, some of them are rather excessive coincidences, but that's hardly anything new for Robb, is it?)
