it was amazing

This is a very beautifully written story of the aftermath of the partition of India and Pakistan in 1947, chronicling the conversion of the lives of hindu twins separated from their mother, a Moslem doctor whose office is destroyed, and a Sikh girl who escapes her father who is determined to kill her rather than allow her to be raped and dishonored by raging mobs. Pretty gripping-I read it in 2 days.
