I love Saramago, I'm cool with the way he writes, and I like the steam of consciousness style and long sentences. For some reason i couldn't get into the crusade story. I think I could enjoy this book another time. I wanted more nervous proof reader, editor, story than the re-writing of the siege story.
I still really like the way he writes, and the way he often phrases things sometimes. This was just not for me at this time.
