Although I recognize that memoirs should be viewed with some healthy skepticism, I found Ayaan Hirsi Ali's story highly gripping and inspirational. I enjoyed it on two levels, both as a book about an Islamic woman (reading about Islamic women is a pet literary interest of mine) and as a fascinating memoir in its own right.
