These books are truly popcorn for the mind... there's really no nutritional value in them, but they are super easy to read and I know I'm always guaranteed certain scenarios -- there will always be a good love scene between Eve and Rourke; there will always be some sort of twisty murder mystery that isn't *too* taxing on the brain to solve; there will always be witty comebacks between Eve and Peabody and Somerset and McNab and Feany (and the rest of the gang!). Each one always seems to be better than the last and I truly love these characters. No, you won't find anything intellectual in these books, and more than likely, if you're "sensitive", you'll probably find something to be offended by in them. But if all you're looking for is a trashy romance novel with a darker, meatier side, then you need to read this series.
