Not as good as some of his others, but better than a few too. Seriously twisted family history makes me wonder, once again, where Koontz gets some of his ideas. Good dialogue, especially by Bobby and Julie who offer up some wit. Disappointed with lack of full explanations for some aspects (ie. other planet and it's inhabitants... seemed too easy of an answer for the mysterious jewels, bugs, etc). Still a good read...
