A well-drawn future, character-driven, very affecting. At first I did not entirely like Zhang/Rafael, but when he learned to be honest with himself and like himself I grew to love him, to be excited for him as he learned new things and began to be capable of making the world better. And I understood why he had been the person he was: ashamed, torn, young. A lovely book.
