The shortest entry in the Dark Tower Series, this one also has the most interesting structure. It's set up in over a dozen stanzas, each focusing on a different member of the broken ka-tet. Scattered across time and space, the characters do their best to prepare for the ultimate showdowns coming in the final book. This book is mostly about Susannah and her struggle to control and expel the alien personality taking over her body, and I actually came out of this book liking Susannah a lot more than before. Stephen King writes about fictional characters visiting Stephen King to tell him to get his ass in gear...I think he had a lot of fun writing this one. Great book, cool structure, action-packed the whole way.
