I swear the book sent me a subliminal message every time I looked at it- Readme, Readme, Readme! So, needless to say, I had to read it, but not because of the books description, which didn;t leap out at me like the title. Thank goodness I did read it though because this was one of the funnest, action-packed world adventures I've ever been on. This story is like one of those mad-cap adventures where everyone is trying to get to the same final destination by going faster than the other teams or simply outwitting the others, except in this story people actually die, sometimes brutally.

The story revolves around Reamde a virus used to rob people, $78 at a time, in T'Rain. This virus was created by some Chinese "minds" who play the online game of T'Rain and the virus ends up causing a Russian gangsters "important" and likely damning data to be hijacked by the virus. From there the the chase is on to locate the creators of the virus and get the gangsters important documents back. The story moves back and forth between the real life and life in the game. Both are used to track down persons of interest. As the story moves along, more and more goes wrong and you can't help but root for Zula, Richard's adopted niece.

Early in the book, the story really goes in to some pretty serious detail regarding T'Rain and I thought this was going to kill it for me, but the information proves necessary as the story moves along. I have worked with people who are really in to their on-line gaming and I always find myself wondering why they would prefer to spend there time off in an imaginary place, when they should just get out and socialize. This book definitely touches on the why and it is quite entertaining.

I loved this book, I would gladly recommend to anyone.

Kim Your review makes this sound soo good - this isn't one I would have just chosen off the description so thanks for taking time to share your thoughts. I'll be on the look for this on my next library trip.

Will Byrnes Nice review. I quite enjoyed this one as well.
