it was ok
bookshelves: manga-to-ignore
Recommended for: Fans of Kingdom Hearts

[Series Length: 4 (+ 5 Series II) volumes / Read: volume 1]

Proof that usually it's nearly impossible to translate a RPG video game (where you just basically wander around, picking up special items and fighting bad guys) into graphic novel form.

I never played Kingdom Hearts so knew nothing about the back story or anything, so I was really hoping that the manga series could catch me up to speed on that universe. But although it wasn't difficult to understand, the plot was simply all over the place and meandered around way too much. Plus, given that most people know and love the Disney characters in animated (not to mention color) form, seeing their manga versions felt pretty dry.

Maybe if you played and enjoyed the game, you might appreciate this a lot more and maybe even gain some further insight into the universe. Otherwise, there's no much point in you getting lost in these books.
