Huh, apparently I have an ARC of this somewhere. Who knew? I started reading this series as number 5, Sweet Possession was nominated for a RT Readers' Choice award.

I think I'm kinda burned out on straight up erotica. I'm at the point where I need the sex and plot to be evenly balanced out. Also, it's a little uncomfortable reading these types of books at work. I'm always afraid someone's going to interrupt my lunch and get an eyeful of my computer screen.

Furthermore, I don't know if I was entirely comfortable with the subject matter. It's interesting because if you'd asked me before reading this series, I'd been like, totally, I'm all for it. However, after mulling it over, it turns out I don't like the idea of letting a man make all my decisions. Banks did a great job of laying it all out in this book and the previous one, Sweet Surrender. She's almost objective about the lifestyle, saying, it may not be for you, but it's still a valid choice.

In any case, I kept looking for more Julie/Nathan. I was really drawn to Julie, perhaps because I could identify with her more than Serena. I gave Sweet Persuasion three stars because while I thought the quality of writing was excellent, I just couldn't sink properly into the story.
