Keith Talent is perhaps one of the finest literary rogues I have encountered, moulded perfectly. His inarticulate summation of all that is glamourous and mysterious as merely "TV" paradoxically captures the gormless fascination with fame for the sake of fame to a tee. Alas, to my mind, he seemed to stand alone in the this book, where nothing happened, and no-one else seemed to have much to say. Meet Keith, but don't feel obliged to pay much attention to the rest
