Full Black (Scot Harvath, #10)

I keep forgetting brad thor has gone off the deep end on politicl policy. Use to just write good thrillers but now he writes wacko right wing commentary. Too bad. Couldn't get past first few chapters before he started in on the benefits of torture and those opposed being communists. Then onto the theory that the country is under attack by liberals as if we were inches away from becoming another cuba? No, china? No. France, that's it's. Hard to believe when we have become more conservative than ever before.

Thanks for the review Dave. You have convinced me to buy this book tonight. Like Brad, I too, feel liberals will destroy everything previous generations of Americans (including immigrants) have worked hard to build. I love when liberals resort to name calling... you are following the example of liberals in VERY high places, indeed... but "wacko" is a bit overused. Check you beloved Huffington Post tomorrow to pick up on the latest derogatory terms they use. Thanks again for the convincing recommendation!

Didn't really expect a comment back but thanks. I believe it is not name calling when I use it as a description of the comments not the person. I hope you enjoyed the book.
My view of the book is similar to yours, Dave. Thor can be a great storyteller. He doesn't need the ideological hammering as a literary tool.At one point late in the book, there is a reflection on the health of democracy ~ and how crucial it is to have our freedoms intact. Surely that should include the freedoms to have genuinely held differences and still be considered patriots!
When Thor preaches his version of the truth, then he leaves himself open to criticism. And he must understand the he will also lose many fans because of his leanings. I for one, want to read a great story and I found myself skipping over his preachy diatribes. I only made it to about page 75 before I called it quits. If I wanted a lecture on the GOP's version of reality, then I would turn on FOX news. It's just too bad that others cannot take your review as it is and not a segway to personal attacks. Don't hesitate to flag anyone who you feel is threatening.Good review!
Let me guess your version of reality is anything from MSNBC and any other left-wing leaning machine . Get your head out of your ass and just admit that your own personal biases affected your reading and review of "Full Black." Your not kidding anyone here.
