How can you not love a guy who is a violin virtuoso, daydreams about riding alongside a beam of light and can still laugh at himself when his simplest scientific musings make headlines around the world? Granted, I wouldn't have wanted to be his wife, daughter or mistress, but oh, to be a friend in his elite little book club!

The book is engaging and well-written, and I have to give props to the author for tackling the physics that made Einstein a star. I am dumber than blonde (no offense, Charity & Becky L) when it comes to physics so parts of the book were simply too difficult for me to understand. And even when I finally understood a concept I couldn't comprehend why it mattered so much.

So even though I enjoyed reading about Einstein and learned what it means to really think and ponder about something (he pondered a concept for 4 years! FOUR years!) the book fell short of 5 stars for me b/c in the end I felt like a blind person reading Vincent Van Gogh's biography.
