This is a delightful twist on the zombie genre, and on the opposite end of the spectrum from Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.

The author updates the zombie lore with a twist on zombie life. Think of them as daytime vampires, holding jobs but needing regular access to brains. The ones you see in the movies? They're just hungry and didn't plan ahead.

There's a nice little murder mystery woven into the story, and it's not a stretch to see this extend to a couple of sequels.
