Erdrich creates these worlds, or even moments, that perhaps do not exist in reality, but that I *want* to exist, and that I enjoyed being drawn into. Like the kitchen of the woman in this book; the light is golden, there is always something rising in the oven (you can smell it), her apron is on, you know her bowls are ceramic and solid. I adored her writing, and the tale this book told.
