A truly powerful novel on the ways we define ourselves, our environment, adaptability, family, love, faith, and home. I tried to listen to this as an audiobook, but there are too many narrators. Once I finished it, I began to re-read it immediately, and I can see that this book will continue to haunt me and demand that I re-read it. This book was truly a masterpiece of pacing, language, and the challenges of the human spirit and condition.
