The Middle Place is a memoir both of Kelly Corrigan's childhood, and of her battle with breast cancer as a young mom. It's funny and interesting, well-written and moving, interestingly unself-pitying, honest, and unflinching in its portrayal of her own character and flaws. The main character is "Greenie," her dad, who also battles cancer. Amazingly enough, it's not a depressing book--it's just a very good read.

My next few books are, I fear, going to be school/teaching oriented. They may take some time!
