This article sums up my response pretty well (aptly asking GP to "give the agave nectar a rest and pass me a pasty"). GP does, indeed, seem "anxious" about food; she doesn't eat red meat, but feels compelled to include a brisket recipe in her book; she worries quite a bit about what her children are eating. The complete absence of her husband from the book is distracting; if I didn't know she had a celebrity husband, I would have to assume that she was either widowed and/or artificially inseminated.
