I was very disappointed with the ending. It took me a while to get into the book and then it ended inappropriately and abruptly. I felt robbed. The ending wasn't even artful enough to allow for healthy speculation -- it just cut the reader off. The prose was so beautiful, however, so I feel like I need to give Ann Patchett another shot.
