really liked it
bookshelves: nature-and-science, travel
Recommended for: Reality television fans
Read in January, 2000

I don't know how many books I've read about climbing expeditions, or why they fascinate me so. But Krakauer's book is among the most accessible and memorable, thanks to the cast of characters and the writing of Krakauer, whom I encountered first in Into the Wild, another book I'd recommend.
