Quite a bit better than the last one, actually.

Still a bit ridiculous and fist-pumpy "Oorah Americah!", still far too many weirdly specific descriptions of fire-arms when it doesn't relate to the plot and still hacky and badly written when it comes to Zach's "funny" lines and Cade's "badass" ones.

All said and done though it definitely refines and goes with what worked in the first book (flashback vignettes from Cade's past and their relevance to the present situation), and I never had to force myself to pick it up and keep reading.

Utter nonsense, but pretty entertaining nonetheless.
