Yes, it is a story about a cat. But it is a really, really well told adventure story about a cat. I am not sure if it is fantasy or realistic--I suppose if you can't accept the idea of cats thinking in abstracts, having a complex means of communication, and a rich culture, this would fall into the fantasy category.

This is another book whose characters and plot are very believable. It's a kind of coming-of-age story, as Tailchaser is learning about cat society, about love and the dark side of cat nature, and in the end, about himself. Some of the cats are real characters--I enjoyed getting to know them. The plot is engaging and moves at a good pace.
