bookshelves: currently-reading

There are a few spots in this book where I chuckle at the random, man notices female breasts, line which makes the author seem a bit juvenile and the book seem less than authentic. O.k., not being a guy, maybe he does really think of breasts that much and it just seems like a lot to me, but does it have to be in the book or just foreshadowing of what else he may see later?...doo...doo..doo.. : )But I digress.

However, for those of us for which a room of ancient books (gloriously leather bound I might add) make our hearts beat a bit faster, this author is brilliant and I can't put the book down.

It is a specialized area this author knows. Of rare book protocol in libraries and what is collected, impossible to find, important and why.

Generally, his style is colorful and well written with great adjectives. (he did attend Harvard) His knowledge is impressive and his characters interesting. He also knows intellectual geekiness and this is fun to read from an insider's perspective. His and probably mine.

Bottom line, read it. It has pulled me in, I am rooting for the protagonist to win and the story is delicious so far.
