Never, or hardly ever, read a series back to back to back. What is unique in one book becomes humdrum in the second if it follows the first too quickly. With no breathing room between titles in a series, they just sort of run together and create of a feeling of been there, done that. Though technically this series was started on Book 2 (Heart of Evil) and this book (Sacred Evil) is actually #3. And there is a fourth, though a review probably be written here.

The new ideas on paranormal minds is still refreshing. The idea of Jack the Ripper is as gruesome today as it was way back when. The research into JTR history, disappearance, theories, etc was extremely well done. (You know I love to learn something new). The balance of paranormal and science was well executed again.

The overall story was where it was lacking. Again, this was most likely a fault of the reader and not of the writer in this case. Definitely a high recommend for the series to paranormal romance readers who are looking for a change of pace from the norm.
