Tally Jones runs the Dalliance ice cream parlor and lives with her cousin Bree and Bree's daughter Alice. Now Bree's ex-husband, who deserted them, is back in town, and suing Bree for proof of Alice's paternity. When his lawyer is found shot, Bree's standing right there with a gun in her hand. Not good! Tally must investigate to clear Bree, and fortunately has the help of her newly-returned to town boyfriend, journalist Finn. But when Alice's paternity is revealed, it's hard for Tally to co-operate. Lots of red herrings, but Tally comes through with the real killer. I do like this series.
