With Rachel Vincent I have this really weird thing going on. I am super excited about all of her novels, but once I own them, I have to force myself to start. This time it didn't take me more than a few minutes to start reading, and it took me about two sentences to be unable to stop, but I still felt as if it needed to be mentioned, even if only in the first draft of my review.
This novel made me so freaking angry. Angry for Kori, who went through hell, and angry for myself because her revenge didn't feel nearly as satisfying as it should have. ((view spoiler)) Angry because it should have been longer, angry because Ian is a literary character, angry because I'll have to wait forever for Oath Bound, angry because of reasons.
I spend most of my time being angry, actually.
Doesn't change the fact that I loved it. Only now that I'm finished with Shadow Bound does it feel a little unsatisfying, and as if Vincent didn't push enough. I think it's incredible how intense I felt what Kori felt, but to be honest, that's making me angry, too, because, you know, it's Saturday afternoon, which is family day, and looking like Voldemort when your Mom asks you if you want some cake isn't exactly the nicest thing to do.
Alas, I wish there was fanfiction that could satisfy me, but I know there isn't. Four stars for this incredible book and it would have been five if I wasn't so sad and angry and amazed and damn this to hell, okay, 4.5 XD
I have to admit that there is another thing that actually bothered me.. But mhe.
Let me.

I just checked it out and it's Harlequin UK.. I don't think they'd approve me. (I'm auto-approved by Harlequin, but not Harlequin UK. ._.) BUUUUT I'll give it a try anyway. :>

You're welcome :)
I'm angry too (view spoiler)
(view spoiler)Alas, I love Rachel Vincent's novels. At the same time, though, they sort of ALWAYS end before I want them to. And not just in the "No, more books!" way but as in: It feels a little unfinished. (Even if it's on purpose)
"With Rachel Vincent I have this really weird thing going on. I am super excited about all of her novels, but once I own them, I have to force myself to start."THIS. Not with Rachel Vincent, but with STACKS of my fave authors. I've been DYING to own Maggie Stiefvater's last two books, bought them on release, but haven't TOUCHED them. Same goes for Melissa Marr with Graveminder, and same with a few. So weeeeird :S

Maybe we don't want to threaten our past reading experiences? Like.. those books were great and we kind of fear that the new ones won't live up to our expectations so we wait and wait and waaaait? But I think it's more than that, or something different entirely..
