The classic military overview of World War One from the pre-eminent military historian, John Keegan. Those looking to learn more about the military blunders and important decisions (very few wise military moves were made in the four-year Great War) should start with Keegan's book. It does get a little tiresome at times, unless you're really into military history. But even for those of us (like myself) who aren't enamored with the x's and o'x of military planning, this book provides enough insight into WWI that it's a worthwhile read.
