The beginning set-up was a bit complex, but once the story focused on Dr. Kacey Lambert, it started to flow. There are a lot of twists and turns. The definition of "family" is a big part of the main plot, but both of the detectives are also thinking of family with this story set around the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.
