After a few of her books, honestly the characters start to run together and their "talents" are far from varied. Same sort of lead female who is misunderstood or withdrawn. Same type of controlling male to the rescue who is a stranger and then suddenly they have to jump each others bones. I literally got the characters mixed up in my head halfway through this with the previous book or books and it was so distracting I had to force myself to finish it. They are very easy to read, though. Not that that is a compliment, just a plus if you prefer an easy read. They really are starting to feel like over glorified trashy novels and losing their appeal. Less atypical lead female/male trashy novel scenario, more Arcane magic and mystery, and these could be great. I want to get through them to the new book, Burning Lamp, but honestly I don't know if I can stomach anymore. Not sure it's worth it.
