it was amazing
bookshelves: historical-non-fiction, military
Read in January, 2011 — I own a copy , read count: 1

1. This was a terrific book of survival- both physical and emotional determination.
2. Another WWII book where Americans joined the military, worked their asses off and complained very little.
3. The pace was slow at times, such as the endless descriptions of drifting in the ocean after being shot down over the Pacific. This was done, I'm sure, to inform the reader of the monotony of their endless days in the raft, not knowing whether they'd live or die.
4. The "hero" of the book was an amazing survivor.
