really liked it

I really liked this book. It was a smaller book, but i had just screwed up my back so my meds made me SUPER sleepy. This books was a nice easy read that took me about 2 days to read as I kept taking naps.

The story is about Meliara (Mel) who is a bit on the small side physically, but has a rather large temper and is super loyal to her friends and family. once her mind is set on something, she sticks with it.

her and her brother promise their dying father that they will do whatever it takes to keep their village/town and its inhabitants safe from the king who happens to be a greedy pig.

this of course leads to a bit of war, running and hiding in the woods and other towns/villages to keep from being executed, a few wounds here and there..

i thought it was well written though at times Mel being a bit of a hard headed coming of age young lady annoyed me. i cannot wait to read book two though and see if her world is going to be turned upside down.

just starting to do reviews, so deal with me here :)
