This was both grim and disappointing. The plot was pretty weak, and the key 'element' of the plot - which ultimately 'gave the game away' - was that the body had been frozen before being dumped. Given that I mnaged to work that out, at the point where the initial corpse investigation was taking place, waiting 200 pages screaming occasionally "For heavens sake, the body was in a freezer', for the blindingly obvious to be sussed was frustrating. As often happens in series books it starts to feel as if the author is getting bored with the character and can't be bothered any more - get the advance, bang out 350 or so pages, go on holiday. Deeply disappointed in this, although her 'fall off the wagon was good fun. May be my last Tempe Brennan though as forgiveness for this mundane rubbish will be hard to earn. What a shame!
