If I could, I'd give this like 3.5 stars, or maybe even 3.75. It's good, and does this really interesting thing of bringing something very like the Buddhist concept of interdependence to a zombie apocalypse. And really, who doesn't love a good zombacalypse?

But it's just not as good as The Devil's Alphabet, which is very nearly perfect.

Now that I've been thinking about it in the context of the other two books, I'm getting more interested in it. All three center around transformations of the body, of one sort or another. This one, though, goes farther, to transcendence of the physical body. And looks differently at the relationship between subjective interiority and the body.

I'm kind of wanting to reread Pandemonium now. Hmmm....
