Books like this you come across once in maybe once in every 5 or ten years. A page turner that makes you forget everything else and you are transported into the scene not as a spectator but as a character albeit a passive on. And when you are done, you just cry and cry and cry ...and you're not sure whether it is because of happiness or sadness or both..or whether it is because so much is about yourself, perhaps metaphorically.

The story in my interpretation is about life coming full circle. About love in its truest and purest sense. About ties that bind through time and vast distances. About how loving oneself, is the beginning of any goodness that you can bring about in this world. Inspite of all the sadness and the terrible things that happened to Celie, the protagonist, the one thing that kept her alive, and the light within her burning spreading incandescence and illuminating the people around her regardless of how mean they have been to her, was this love which is impossible to articulate with physical words. Her faith is the pillar which stands tall, large and firm, with roots running deep and sprawling far and wide.
It delivers the message to be steadfast in our faith, as it always pays.

And above all, the story tells about patience, being well placed is virtue, but placed wrongly is weakness.
