I just love this really I can't stress enough how much this novel interested me. I feel like the storyline is classic high-fantasy with magic-wielding and swordsmen and great war scenes... but at the same time unique because the characters are deep and convincing with a plot line that revolves around their decisions, instead of vice versa. My favorite part about this novel is Goodkind's way of convincing me how important Richard and Kahlan's relationship is when they spend the majority of the novel apart. For me, it was easy to get lost in this novel because Richard's love is so pure and Nicci was the perfect "evil" character... deplorable, yet contradictory so you can't quite decide whether you like her or not. The best villains are always the ones you can't pin down. :)
