what i really don't like about this one, as compared to the other ones, is that i got bored.



the series as a whole lacks something -- this book especially doesn't feel real to me. what i mean is, the characters and the plot and everything don't feel natural. it's like they DECIDED Zoey doesn't like to swear, they DECIDED these people should say this here and that there. that shouldn't be how a story feels. it should feel like it transitions naturally from plot point to plot point, rather than hastily taped together with pointless, painful dialogue.



i'm not saying the book is bad, because it's not. what i'm saying is that it shouldn't be written by two people, because they don't have the same thing in their head when they write it. that makes it more difficult to feel like the characters are real.



there's way too much dialogue in this one, as with the other three. also, the spend way too much time (ask usual) telling us what happened in the previous books. if i were their editor, i would chop all the review out of it. show me, don't tell me. i don't want explainations or discussions. i want a story.
