Lots of research went into this book. It's filled with quotations and excerpts from numerous sources from the comic world both modern and historical. If you're interested in comics, then you'll probably really enjoy this book, because, after all, there really isn't enough written about comics--despite their popularity and artistic merits.

However, if you're more of a lay person, you may have some trouble. This caution would also apply if you're reading more for what happened after the governmental hearings on comic books and juvenile delinquents.

I picked Ten Cent Plague up because it was receiving some really positive reviews and sounded like a very interesting investigation of comics from a society stand point.
