Two stars = it was OK and it was. I read for my book group, otherwise might not have finished it. It was just so LIFETIME movie-ish. The private plane crash in a wilderness area in the dead of winter with no one looking for them. (How about the now-dead pilot's wife raising an alarm with the FAA?)
There's a corny device of the surgeon hero talking to his wife on a little recorder. Would have been more effective to talk to the young woman with the badly broken leg -- even if she was unconscious at the time.
By the time the final twist was revealed I felt thoroughly manipulated. OTOH, I did like the doctor's determination to get them both to safety, refusing to abandon her. And it was a nice chilly book to read on a hot summer day.
