it was amazing

An awesome plane read, with laugh-out-loud perceptions of both French and British culture, told from the point of view of Mayle's adopted dog. It helps to have read his other books about his (mis)adventures in Provence to have a context for the dog's musings, criticisms and witticisms, but it's an entertaining read none-the-less. I wish it made me feel like I understood my own dog more because of it, but it's nothing more than a playful collection of projections and anecdotes, not without some well-seasoned truths though...
