In this book Arthur really begins to show his transformation into a denizen...or something. Although, he doesn't realize it until the end, even though he ends up tripping over things and becoming unbalanced as he moves around because of his sudden height spurt.

Lady Friday is somewhat the mad scientist of the morrowdays, she uses mortals from Earth in her 'experiencing' experiments. I did wonder why she only seemed to use people from Earth and no others from other Secondary Realms, perhaps they have the most interesting experiences to Lady Friday?

Overall, Arthur seems more and more likely to become something other than human, but the consequences of not using the keys to fix the house are also becoming more and more dire.

The fate of not only the house, but also the entire universe, seems to be on Arthur's shoulders.
