S. I know a better one than this!

Ashley Which one? I went to B&N so my choices were already limited.

message 3: by S. (new)

S. Hi, well you are going to have to go beyond B&N a bit. Most of mu occult books are antique and vintage. i really do not care much for "so called occult books" published after 1989, but here we go...
The Lesser Key of Solomon, GOETIA, The book of Evil Spirits 1916 by De Laurence it will cost you more than a hundred bucks, but trust me it is worth it. compare it to what you already have when you get it. ebay is probably the best place to find it.
Google it like this: The Lesser Key Of Solomon -The Goetia....translated from ancient manuscripts in the British Museum Copyright 1916 by de Laurence, Scott and Co.

Ashley Hello, oh I completely agree. I do go beyond B&N and I do know I need to but I like to read everything in order to compare and contrast. I do know what you mean by the "so called occult" since I have read my share. If it's worth it I will definitely get it then. Yeah, it's 179$, I guess I need to save up. Well I think it's very nice to meet you. Thank you. You should maybe put some books up so I can delve through your lists.

S. Hi there, Ok Let me explain;;;
I said so called occult because I dislike connotative and colloquial English! For example: the study of lets say Fairies, Pixies and even nasty trolls is really the study of mythology and folklore (I am a avid student of Joseph Campbell)The study of demonology is is even not really the occult, it's studying demonology! LOL! The Occult from my thesis is studying the "Dark Arts". Dark meaning void of light or simply shadowed! The entomological root for occult is occultus (old latin for clandestine, hidden from the view of radiant illumination)so i share in the opinion that occult is a term that has been coined like Pagan, which is simply nothing more than all spiritual ideas and practices outside of Christianity! Sorry to fill up the reply box like this, please ol'e Simba for that one.

Ashley I know what you mean. I study mythology as well as demonology and I know them as such. And I know exactly what is meant by the occult as well as it's actual meaning. I actually began my studies in occult first (and even did a school paper on it in middle school) and am now going back into it. You are preaching to the choir. :)

S. Thanks, it's nice to know I am not alone sometime.
what grade were you in when you did the paper and how was the response? Sounds interesting Ashley. It appears that this was a "calling" on your life.

Ashley I think I was in 7th grade. There wasn't really a response that I remember. I'm sure I wasn't the only one with off beat research papers then.
