415 pages Fantasy/Scifi . This reader must decide if they want to invest the time and effort to get past the 1st 150 pages to get to a good story, This book was hard to read to but worth it in the final analysis. It builds momentum like a train. Tchaikovsky is writing a spy story using human/bugs as the primary characters. The story is dense with details in an unnecessary way. Yet once I got involved with the characters I wanted to know more and finished a book I almost chucked. The next books in the series are not as long and hopefully the writing style gets better. This one of those books I definitely would not buy but would tell you to borrow it from your local library.
