Read in July, 2011 — I own a copy

This is the first Dean Koontz novel I've read. I must confess the only reason I came into possession of this book was thanks to my local Borders closing down. With the closing down sales I managed to purchase a rather eclectic range to add to my collection.
It was the cover that caught me, posing the question of whom do you deem more worthy of life? The cover made a promise of testing the lead characters moral fibre and thankfully the book itself delivered. It was fun to see the lead pushed into committing acts he normally would never dare consider while slowly having some of his past revealed, all the while doggedly chasing the monster that is turning his below the radar life upside down.
Most of the twists were genuinely surprising to me, which I am grateful for because I seem to have become a little too good at guessing what comes next of late. The second half of the book will certainly pull you in with its 'velocity' as I found myself staying up to 2am to finish it!
