Interesting and a bit depressing. The first few chapters seemed like a catalogue of animals and plants becoming extinct in Australia. This book was written as a call to action, focussed primarily at the incoming Rudd government. I think little has changed and certainly not quickly enough. But it is an excellent primer on the issues in Aus and the multi-faceted approach needed to address those issues. The key lesson, however, is that agricultural practises are the single most damaging thing for the Aus environment and government does nothing - or very little, which in terms of Aus' fragile environment may as well be nothing - to redress the damage.
