The writing style is easy to read and the chapters are short. The book is depressing and has no or few moments of joy. Although some characters are well described the plot is under developed and leaves much to be desired. It feels a bit like the author was trying so hard for the major event to be a mystery that it lost meaning and didn't live up to expectations. I would probably have liked it better if the mother and her relationship with the father had been described in greater detail.
