I wavered between three stars and four stars on this one. I became very engrossed in the story (I have read others in this series and felt at homw with the characters); however, as a Language teacher I was distracted by the writing style at times. It seemed very irregular - some parts were very smooth; but there were pages at a time that seemed unedited to me. The last chapter or two particularly had several total nonsequitors in the dialogue that puzzled me and ruined the fluidity of the plot. So the four stars is for the fact that I was drawn into the story, and the three stars is because I was distracted by the mechanics of the writing style.
