I read this because a friend of mine (you know who you are!) kept talking about Ender's Game (a book I've read and loved many times) and while deciding if I should reread it I found this instead. Card has come back nearly 20 years after "Ender's Game" to write a book that acts as its immediate sequel, a bridge between "EG" and the "Speaker" and/or "Shadow." Very enjoyable to get a bit more of Ender, though I always get tired of how perfect Ender believes himself to be (worse, Card seems to agree with Ender).
