it was amazing
bookshelves: food-mysteries
Read from August 06 to 08, 2012

At first this started a little slow for me, I thought it a very odd premise for a business/shop, and I was once again disappointed that it was written in third person, but it immediately started growing on me. I found myself connecting to the characters despite the choice of tense, because there was enough witty banter, snark, and sarcasm to make it seam real and not so linear. I also liked how it was not fully a culinary cozy, yet not fully a hobby cozy either. And it was pretty cool to see how the cookie cutters represented different players in the mystery and how it unfolded at the end. This was a pleasant surprise, looking forward to the rest of the series.
