A great read! Hearing about his life, his work and his thoughts and actions in his own words was a really powerful thing. I feel like I know the man behind the image a little bit better now, and I feel like I'm better for it. Brian Warner, behind Marilyn Manson, is just like everyone else. He is also destined for greatness - he is great in the tradition of Baudelaire, Poe, de Sade, Bellmer and artists of their ilk - he helps to bring about an evolution of thought by taking what society deems 'appropriate' and running headlong in the opposite direction. Yes his style and art is disturbing, but the wise will ask 'why does this disturb me so? what makes me fear this?' It will make you know yourself a little better and teach you a few realities while it entertains. His book gave insight, therefore, not only into Brian Warner, but into society and our own minds as well. He really is a genius.
